Event Report – “The regional security situation in advance of Latvia’s EU Presidency”

CEU’s Center for EU Enlargement Studies (CENS), the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Hungary, and the CEU Rectorate hosted first Ambassadorial Lecture Series event of the 2014/15 academic year on 23 September 2014 entitled “The regional security situation in advance of Latvia’s EU Presidency”. The lecture was delivered by Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Hungary, H.E. Mr. Imants Lieģis, to a distinguished group of diplomats, ambassadors, students and university professors.

Event report: “Looking Southeast: Providing Fresh Impetus towards EU Membership”

On 28 May 2014, CEU’s Center for EU Enlargement Studies (CENS) and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Budapest organized an expert conference on the Western Balkans and Turkey entitled “Looking Southeast: Providing Fresh Impetus towards EU Membership”. The event supported the joint strategic goal the EU has for the European future of the Western Balkan region, and it also examined Turkey’s path towards the EU.
