CENS researcher Zsuzsanna Végh gave an interview to Bianca Toma, project coordinator of the Romanian Center for European Policies on coordination among Visegrad countries in the field of development assistance in the Eastern neighborhood, the impact of the refugee crisis and Russia's agression in Ukraine on future developments in the development field, and the possibilities of wider development policy coordination in Central Europe in the context of the post-2015 agenda.

Effects of Elections in CEE Countries on EU Governance - Papers of a conference

On November 30, 2015, the Center for EU Enlargement Studies of the Central European University, with the support of the Budapest Büro of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, has organized an international conference dedicated to the role of elections in young democracies of Central and Eastern Europe. With this international conference, CENS aimed to create an opportunity for critical debate concerning elections in post-communist EU member states by discussing the significance of election results and their far-reaching consequences on EU governance.

In September 2015, the Foreign Policy Association of Moldova in partnership with CEU Center for EU Enlargement Studies (Hungary), the Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies (Poland), the Research Center of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association (Slovakia), the Association of International Affairs (Czech Republic), the Georgian Institute for Strategic Studies (Georgia) and with the Institute of World Policy (Ukraine) launched the project entitled “V4 Supporting Communication Strategy of Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine on implementing AA and DCFTA” .

Embedding Democratic Values: Institutions or Mentality?

Lively discussions kicked off the new project of the Center for EU Enlargement Studies (CENS) entitled “Frontiers of Democracy: Embedding Democratic Values in Moldova and Ukraine” on December 4, 2015, at the Central European University (CEU). The goal of the project is to study various aspects of the process of embedding democratic values in the societal ethos in Central and Eastern Europe, and thus to contribute to the democratic development of Moldova and Ukraine.
