Event Report - “Foreign Policy of Japan: Characteristics and Current Challenges - with some reference to its peace building efforts”

CEU Center for EU Enlargement Studies (CENS), the Embassy of Japan in Hungary, the Rectorate, and CEU Department of International Relations and European Studies (IRES) hosted a public lecture on 15 May 2013 entitled “Foreign Policy of Japan: Characteristics and Current Challenges - with some reference to its peace building efforts”. The lecture was delivered by H.E. Mr Tadamichi Yamamoto, Japanese Ambassador to Hungary, to a distinguished group of diplomats, ambassadors, students and university professors.

Aron Szele contributes to book on radical right

Szele Áron, Research Assistant at the Center for European Enlargement Studies, has recently contributedto the book entitled:  Europe's Radical Right. Movements and parties on the streets and in Parliaments" (original title: Europas radikale Rechte: Bewegungen und Parteien auf Straßen und in Parlamenten) by Martin Langebach and Andreas Speit.

The publication by Zsuzsanna Vegh, research assistant at the CEU Center for EU Enlargement Studies, addresses how the so-called transition experience of Hungary appears in the country's official, bilateral development cooperation policy since such activities have been re-lauched in the beginning of the 2000s. The paper also highlights the challenges of researching the topic in the current policy environment in Hungary.

The common publication of the Center for EU Enlargement Studies, the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs, the Manfred Wörner Foundation and the Regional Branch of the National Institute for Security Studies in Uzhgorod titled "Ukraine at Crossroads. Prospects of Ukraine's Relations with the European Union and Hungary" is now available online.
