Transition Experience & Hungary's International Development Cooperation Policy - Publication by Zsuzsanna Vegh

March 20, 2013

The publication by Zsuzsanna Vegh, research assistant at the CEU Center for EU Enlargement Studies, addresses how the so-called transition experience of Hungary appears in the country's official, bilateral development cooperation policy since such activities have been re-lauched in the beginning of the 2000s. The paper also highlights the challenges of researching the topic in the current policy environment in Hungary. It concludes with recommendations concerning how the current system could be developed, and how the Hungarian authorities (maybe in cooperation with their Visegrad counterparts) could use the still developing European framework to put more emphasis on their international development priorities.

The paper is published in the DemNet Research Papers series and has been produced with the assistance of the European Union, EuropeAid Programme, in the frame of the “V4Aid –United Support for Millenium Development Goals” project led by the Foundation for Development of Democratic Rights (DemNet).

The paper is available both in English and Hungarian through DemNet's webite.
