European Foreign Policy Scorecard launched in Budapest

The 5th edition of the European Foreign Policy Scorecard, an annual evaluation of the European Union's foreign policy published by the European Council on Foreign Relations, was presented and discussed on March 31, 2015, at the Central European University.

Event Report – “Continuing and Accelerating Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU Integration in the Framework of the New British-German Initiative”

CEU Center for EU Enlargement Studies (CENS), CEU Rectorate and the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Hungary hosted a public lecture on 30 March 2015 entitled “Continuing and Accelerating Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU Integration in the Framework of the New British-German Initiative”. The lecture was delivered by Ambassador H.E. Mr Željko Janjetović to a distinguished group of diplomats, ambassadors, students and university professors.

The lecture was chaired by Péter Balázs, Director of CENS and former Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

"Energy and Security in Ukraine: Implications for Europe and the West"

On February 17, 2015 the Center for EU Enlargement Studies organized an expert roundtable entitled ‘Energy and Security in Ukraine: Implications for Europe and the West’ in cooperation with the US Embassy in Budapest. Panelists discussed the current situation in Ukraine, focusing on four key areas: energy security, Western-Russian relations, hard security concerns in Ukraine and the United States’ position on the conflict.

Event Report - “Engagement or Containment: EU-Russia Relations in Turbulent Times and the Role of Central Europe”

On September 25, 2014, the Center for EU Enlargement Studies of the Central European University, in cooperation with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Budapest, organized an international conference entitled “Engagement or Containment: EU-Russia Relations in Turbulent Times and the Role of Central Europe.” The keynote speeches were provided by Reinhard Krumm, director of the Department for Central and Eastern Europe at the Berlin office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, and Wolfgang Behrendt, desk officer of the Russia Division of the European External Action Service.
