Łukasz Janulewicz is a researcher at the Center for European Neighborhod Studies (CENS). His research focusses on regional cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe, particularly the Visegrad Group and the Three Seas Initiative, within the broader context of European integration. His further research interests include Polish foreign policy and Poland’s foreign aid program, as well as the provision of technical assistance and capacity building as instances of policy transfer. His current research investigates the foreign policy responses of the Visegrad countries to the refugee crisis, particularly their use of foreign aid in the Middle East.

He received his PhD from the University of Kent with a thesis on the Polish foreign aid programme and holds a Magister degree in Political Science from the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich.

He joined CENS in 2017. Previously, he worked as a Sessional Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University, as an Associate and Assistant Lecturer at the University of Kent teaching courses on European integration, European Foreign and Security Policy and European political economy. Before entering academia, he worked as a parliamentary researcher on European affairs for a Member of the Bavarian Landtag.
