Professor Péter Balázs receives “Bene merito” honorary distinction

Professor Péter Balázs, CENS Director and former Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, was awarded the honorary distinction of Poland “Bene merito” which was given by the Ambassador of Poland to Hungary H.E. Mr. Roman Kowalski in the presence of CEU Rector and President Mr. John Shattuck on 1 December 2015.

The “Bene merito” honorary distinction is awarded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland at the Minister’s own initiative or upon the request of other ministers or heads of foreign missions. The distinction was established in 2009 in recognition of their merits in promoting Poland abroad. 

The ceremony took place at the Central European University and was attended by close colleagues, friends and family members of Professor Balázs.
