On April 14, Zsuzsanna Végh, research assistant of CENS, participated in the panel discussion "Eastern Partnership Trends before Riga" at the Premanent Representation of the Czech Republic in Brussels. The discussion evolved around the final results of the "Trends of Eastern Partnership" project led by the Association of International Affaires (AMO) which assessed the perceptions' of foreign policy elites from the V4 and EaP countries concerning the results and future prospects of the EU's Eastern Partnership policy. Providing comparative data across 10 countries, the research is a unique and unprecedented endavour in evaluating the first 6 years of the policy. The discussion comes at the time of a general review of the EU's neighborhood policy announced by the European commission as well as at the final preparatory stages of the EaP summit in Riga under Latvia's EU Presidency.

The main findings of the project were presented by Václav Lídl, research fellow at AMO, and discussed by Nils Jansons, deputy head of division for EaP at the European External Action Service, and Georgi Gotev, senior editor of EurActive.com. In the subsequent panel discussion Victoria Bucataru, program director of the Foreign Policy Association, and Daria Gaidai, analyst of the Institute of World Policy, elaborated on the results of Moldova and Ukraine respectively, while Jana Kobzova, senior program officer of the European Endowment for Democracy and Zsuzsanna Végh, research assistant of the Center for EU Enlargement Studies discussed future prospects and potential foci of the Eastern Partnership initiative. Nikola Karasova, associate fellow at AMO answered questions about the research project.

The results of the project have been published on an interactive website set up by AMO. The website makes it possible to compare the results from all 10 countries that participated in the survey. The datasets are also available for download and further analysis in Excel format.
