Aron Szele contributes to book on radical right

Szele Áron, Research Assistant at the Center for European Enlargement Studies, has recently contributedto the book entitled:  Europe's Radical Right. Movements and parties on the streets and in Parliaments" (original title: Europas radikale Rechte: Bewegungen und Parteien auf Straßen und in Parlamenten) by Martin Langebach and Andreas Speit.

 The book is the result of an academic project of the University of Düsseldorf, and appeared in 2013 in German at the Swiss publisher Orell Füssli. The main subject of the book is today's radical right wing political movements, with the objective of giving the public an informed analysis of the current-day status of this Europe-wide phenomenon. The two authors give reports in a pan-European overview of the main parties, movements and subcultures of the radical right is first given. By using recent studies, documents from private and public archives and informants from the scene, the two authors describe the strategy, programmatic, organization and networking among the various groups. Supplemented by on-site interviews from eleven countries and reports of events and demonstrations in which the authors have participated undercover, the book seeks to provide an accurate picture of the current situation.

Szele Áron contributed to the chapter on Hungary by giving an interview to the authors on the subjects of far right ideology and discourses concerning images and history. He also provided information on the current political situation of the far right in Hungary, and the relationship and differences between the radical right, and other, more traditional streams of right wing politics in the country.
