CEU Center for EU Enlargement Studies (CENS), the Embassy of Brazil in Hungary, CEU Rectorate, and CEU Department of International Relations and European Studies (IRES) hosted a public lecture on 13 March 2012 entitled “Brazil as an Emerging Global Power: Challenges and Opportunities”. The lecture was delivered by Ambassador H.E. Mr Sérgio Eduardo Moreira Lima to a distinguished group of diplomats, ambassadors, students and university professors.

From May to August 2011 Wout van Lankveld (24), master student of human geography at the Radboud University Nijmegen conducted a research within CENS focusing on how and why EU accession of the Western Balkan countries has made little progress so far. He shared some of his findings and experiences in an article for the Transfer magazine written by Annemieke Bosman in February 2012.
