Event Report - “France and the EU”

CEU Center for EU Enlargement Studies (CENS), the Embassy of France in Hungary, the Rectorate, and CEU Department of International Relations and European Studies (IRES) hosted a public lecture on 24 January 2013 entitled “France and the EU”. The lecture was delivered by H.E. Mr Roland Galharague, French Ambassador to Hungary, to a distinguished group of diplomats, ambassadors, students and university professors.

On the 21st of January, the Center for European Enlargement Studies, with the kind support of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Budapest, organized the third lecture of its “The Seven Neighbors of Hungary- Questions of Historical Reconciliation and Cooperation in the 21st Century” lecture series. The series is intended to treat critically the topic of diplomatic and historical reconciliation of Hungary with its seven neighbors. The conferences bring together diplomats, academic expertise, and views from young scholars from the area.

Hungarian parties and the EU

On December 5, 2012 the research team of the Hungarian Europe Society presented the results of the study dealing with the attitudes of Hungarian parliamentary parties towards the EU and titled "Where Does the PERC-index Stand? or from EU Destructivists to Federalists: the Relationship of Hungarian Parliamentary Parties towards the European Union".

Zselyke Tófalvi took part in the research team of HES.

 

Event Report: The Media and the Radical Right

On the 19th of November 2012, the Center for European Enlargement Studies, with the support of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Budapest, organized the third  conference in the “Radical Right: Yesterday and Today” project. The event, entitled “The Media and the Radical Right”, had as its topic the interactions between media and radical right-wing politics in Europe.
