A graduate of Timisoara University, Ambassador Lazurca earned a Master and a PhD degree in history/anthropology at the Sorbonne IV University in France. After starting his professional career in 1996 as a teacher at his Romanian alma mater, Lazurca decided to enter the civil service in 2001. Five years later he was appointed ambassador to the Holy See and the Order of Malta. Between 2010 and 2016, Marius Lazurca served as Romanian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova. On the 12th of September 2016 Lazurca presented his letters of credence to H.E. Mr Áder János, President of Hungary. Marius Lazurca is also an author and a translator. He is married with 6 children.
