The Center for EU Enlargement Studies (CENS) at the Central European University (CEU) is pleased to invite you to attend the official launch of the European Commission publication "25 years after the fall of the Iron Curtain. The state of integration of East and West in the European Union" at the Central European University in Budapest. The event will take place at the Central European University in Budapest, on September 24th, from 10 am to 12 pm.
This review paper is the result of a collaborative project that brought together CENS and CEU researchers and was led by professor Peter Balazs. It offers a critical account of political, social, economic and cultural changes undertaken in East and Central European countries, which are now EU member states. It also discusses the future options for EU New Member States, in a permanently shifting context, marred by increasing inter and transnational unresolved issues.
