“New Economy in New Europe”

November 6 (Thursday) 2014 at 3 p.m.
CEU, Nádor 9, Gellner Room

“There is some sense that V4 tech companies initially benefit from the same dynamics that led heavy manufacturing to migrate to the region in the 1990s: specifically, a skilled labor force working for lower wages than elsewhere,” writes Benjamin Cunningham in his article for the recent issue of Visegrad Insight, which deals with the new economic realities of Central Europe.

Would this mean that V4 countries have kind of a competitive advantage in the new Digital Age race? To what extent does innovation give a boost and advantage to our economies? And how will it influence our societies? Let’s talk about what potentials this new economy has in the region.

Chair:
Péter Balázs, Director, Center for EU Enlargement Studies

Wojciech Przybyłski, Editor-in-chief, Visegrad Insight, Res Publica Nowa
Benjamin Cunningham
