 Dr. Burak Erdenir

Burak Erdenir is the Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry for European Union Affairs of Turkey, which oversees Turkey’s EU accession process. His portfolio includes accession policies, EU law and research activities. He has been with the Ministry since October 2000. He holds a B.Sc. degree from Middle East Technical University, MBA from Georgetown University and MPA from Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Erdenir received his Ph.D. in Political Science and Public Administration from Ankara University. He is the author of a book on European Identity (Avrupa Kimliği: Pan-Milliyetçilikten Post-Milliyetçiliğe). He has contributed to the book Muslims in 21st Century Europe: Structural and Cultural Perspectives (Routledge, 2010) with the chapter on ‘Islamophobia qua Racial Discrimination: Muslimophobia’.
