This one-day, four-panel conference is dedicated to drawing a balance of the 6 year-long membership experience of the Visegrad states (might be extended to other new members). With the participation of experts from old and new member states, the conference will aim to provide an overview of the EU’s process of including new members into common decision-making, coalition-making strategies and policy-shaping activities, while assessing their success in accommodating to these processes and challenges. The event will give a special attention to the mutual perceptions between new and old member states and the public discourses about the Union in the Visegrad region.
