The Central European University's contribution to the expert outreach and consultation process of the EU's Global Strategy  for Foreign and Security Policy was acknowledged in the new strategic document titled "Shared Vision, Common Action: A Stronger Europe". The Global Strategy was presented by Federica Mogherini and the European External Action Service on June 29, 2016. The document seeks to address the challenges of a world that is "more connected, contested and complex" than ever before, and attempts to lay out a common vision for the European Union as a whole.

The Center for European Neighborhood Studies contributed to the outreach and consultation process with the conference titled "Visegrad's Role in EU Foreign Policy and Global Strategy" organized on March 30, 2016, in cooperation with the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR). The event was supported by the CEU Conferences and Academic Events Fund.
