Internship Call - Frontiers of Democracy
The Center for EU Enlargement Studies (CENS) at the Central European University is looking for a part-time intern to provide assistance on the project entitled “Frontiers of Democracy: Embedding Democratic Values in Moldova and Ukraine”. The intern will gain work experience in the research and think tank field as well as insights into project management in an international environment.
The internship would start in late February / early March and run until June 2016. Concrete dates are to be agreed. Tasks can be completed online, thus residence in Hungary is not a must. The position is unpaid.
Responsibilities
The intern will:
- collect data and conduct background research on various topics related to democratization in Central and Eastern Europe;
- draft short background papers on the above topics;
- do fact-checking of research papers;
- format and edit research papers.
Eligibility
The candidate should:
- have a background in political science, European studies, sociology (or related fields);
- have an interest in the state of democracy and democratization in Central and Eastern Europe;
- have experience with academic research;
- have excellent communication skills and fluency both in written and spoken English (knowledge of “Visegrad languages”, Ukrainian or Romanian is an asset);
- have an attention to detail, be well-organized and reliable.
